Boy Scout Explorers Attend Sco::t F, :ch Ten Explorers of the Inland Empire Council Boy Scouts will make a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in the New Mexi- co Rockies this July to parlici- pate in seven days of rugged high adventure. In addition to a horseback trip and horsemanship instruc- tion, Explorers will become ex- perts in outdoor skills while on the trail. There will be opoor-" tunity for fishing, mountain climbing and insturction in In- dian metal work and woodear- ving. There will be evening campfires around a chuck wa- gon and tales of the old west and of Kit Carson who's home was located on what is now Philmont Ranch near Cimer- ron, New Mexico. Th Inland Empire Council is cooperating with other councils of eastern Washington and Ida- ho to make this trip possible. The route will include Walla Walla, Boise, Salt Lake, Grand Junction, Pueblo, Trinidad, Ra- ton and Cimerron returnir~g through the Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks. Estimated cost of the trip in- cluding four days travel to the site, seven days there and five days returning is $130. Reser- vations fo rteh trip are on a first come, first served basis.
