Ordinati Held in at red Saturday Church A young man, who has been working as a deacon at the Sacred Heart Catholic parish in Othello since completing theology studies early this year, was ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Spokane last Saturday. Father Pedro Ramirez Alejoa, 28, was ordained Saturday at 11 a.m. in his native village of Juventino Rosas near Guanajuato, Mex- ico. The ordination was by Bishop Victorino Alvarez Tena, Bishop of Celaya, and Three-Church Bible hool Opens Aug. 19 held in the Santa Cruz Church. On Sunday at noon he celebrated a Mass of Thanks- giving in the same church. Father Ambrose Zenner OSB of Mt. Angel Abbey, St. Benedict, Ore., where Father Ramirez studied theology, preached the homily. Father Ramirez will cele- brate another Mass of Thanksgiving after returning to the Diocese, at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church here at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, and will give his priestly blessing following his Mass. Father Ramirez is the son of Mrs. Natividad Alejos, widow of Vincente Ramirez who died in 1970. Youth Choir Slated Friday The "Win'Some Singers", a youth choir from Kenmore, will be presenting a concert at the Othello Assembly of God church at 8 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 9. Church officials reported that tile group of about 30 singers will be making the local appearance following a performance at Exp. '74 earlier in the week. The public is invited to attend with a free-will dona- tion planned. Members of the choir will be spending the night here prior to continuing their trip home, church officials noted. Northrup King Picnic Held Northrup King employees held their annual plant picnic Tuesday, July 30, at Lions Park. Good food and a relaxing time were had by 57 em- ployees of whom 52 were Basin residents. The five out-of-town guests included Jack Mings, Earl Wold, Bob Romig and son, all Minneapolis, Minn. and Bob Hadley, Boise, Ida.
