the annual horse competition
will not be a direct part of the
Grant County Fair this year,
and as a result Adams county

Entry forms are available at
Basin Sales in Othello or from
local 4-H Club leaders. Entries
will be open until 5 p.m. on
Aug. 10.
Events will include junior,
intermediate and senior divi-
sions in pole bending, scurry,
barrel racing and keyhole.
Junior sack and boot races are
planned, as well as two-man
ribbon scurry and four-mem-
ber team events in baton and

graduated recently from re-
cruit training at the Naval
Training Center, San Diego.
He is scheduled to report to

He received nine weeks of
intensive instruction in sea-
manship, small arms training,
fire fighting, close order drill,
first aid and Naval history.
