Drive Carefully
Halloween Night
Says Patrol Chief
The happy chorus of "Trick
or Treat" will soon be echoing
up and down the streets.
Chief James A. Pryde of the

youngsters and motorists alike.
He urged motorists to be es-

may be d~ressed in dark cloth-
ir~g or wearir~g masks that ob-
scure their vision.
"They mean to be careful,"
he warned. "but under the ex-
citement of Halloween they
forget. Above all ~times, this is
a time to remember to expect
the unexpected from children."
~I-Ie reminded rrmtorists that
residential areas are paticul.ar
dan~er spots on ~Ialloween be-
cause af the large number of
vahildren and because the child-

ground.
But no matter where you are
drivir~g, he said, remember it
is I-Ial~ween an,d a ~ad~onal
time for children to dress in
costume and be out after dark.
"Give children a brake," he
said. "Drive as if atl chSldren
